About this website

TRC’s mission is to contribute significantly to the eradication of torture, organized violence, and other human rights abuses. TRC also endeavours to eliminate the culture of impunity felt by many of the perpetrators which is so rife throughout Palestine.

Building on the vast pool of internally generated knowledge and expertise, as well as those available globally, the Treatment and Rehabilitation Center for Victims of Torture (TRC) will deploy all its programs and activities to reach out to torture survivors and deliver highly needed treatment and rehabilitation services in a ‘model building’ approach; to provide ‘capacity building’ interventions and facilitate knowledge exchange to and between individuals and relevant organizations and institutions; and to serve as a ‘strong voice’ for Torture Survivors through Advocacy and Public Awareness Campaigns, all in an integrated approach that incorporates Mental Health and Human

We believe that to invest in the capacity of law makers and professionals who work within the legal system (including law enforcement agencies), will ultimately create a society that is knowledgeable and more aware of the plight of torture victims. TRC aims to ensure that the human rights of all detained people are fully respected by both Israeli and Palestinian institutions.

Through dissemination of information, and awareness building – TRC envisions a Palestine; where all types of torture have been eradicated, where all perpetrators of torture are brought to justice, and where all victims have the necessary help and advice that is needed.
